The Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots square off in Week 13. It's one of the more intriguing matchups of the week, especially if you're a fan of either team. The Vikings are coming off a very important win over the Green Bay Packers while the Patriots continue to dominate after a shaky start.

One player to watch is Cordarrelle Patterson. Patterson has played for both teams during his career. He was used primarily as a kick returner during his days with the Vikings. On Wednesday, Head coach Mike Zimmer admitted that the Patriots have been using Patterson better than they did.

“Quite honestly, they’re using him way better than we did,” Zimmer said on a Wednesday conference call.

Patterson failed to meet expectations with the Vikings. He did have a couple of great plays as a kick returner, but that was it. He is now thriving with the Patriots.

On top of using him as a returner, head coach Bill Belichick and the Patriots have used Patterson as a wide receiver (his natural position) and even as a running back. As a back, Patterson has totaled 37 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown. As a receiver, Patterson has caught 13 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, per Pro Football Reference.

It will be interesting to see how the Patriots use him in this week's matchup, especially with the return of Rex Burkhead and Sony Michel coming back in New England's win over the New York Jets. Patterson really has been a “jack of all trades” for the Patriots offense this season, so they will certainly find a role for him somewhere.
