Xavier Rhodes and the Minnesota Vikings are set to face off with the New Orleans Saints in a battle between two serious NFC contenders this week. Both teams will have a little extra to play for this week as this game will be the rematch of the “Minneapolis Miracle” game from the playoffs last season.

Unfortunately for the Vikings, Rhodes is still limping from the sprained ankle that he suffered against the New York Jets. He was forced to leave the game when the injury occurred.

According to a report from Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Vikings' star cornerback may be limping but he made it clear that is feeling “great.”

Minnesota will need Rhodes to play a key role this week against the Saints' high-powered offense. Drew Brees is one of the most lethal quarterbacks in the game and New Orleans has one of the most talented receivers in the league as well in Michael Thomas.

Throughout the 2018 NFL season thus far, Rhodes has racked up 24 tackles, an interception, and five defended passes. At 28 years old, Rhodes is still more than capable of making teams throw away from him. Brees is not the kind of quarterback to play scared, especially with a player dealing with an injury.

Rhodes will be tested by the Saints' offense. They may not throw a huge number of passes his way, but they are going to see just how healthy he really is this week.

Expect to see Rhodes gut it out and play a big role for the Vikings. He may still be limping, but that is not going to stop him from making an impact on the game.
