Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook had an afternoon to remember in his team's blowout win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Like here, for example. Watch him fake a Dolphins defender into oblivion with the spin move en route to a touchdown to put an exclamation point on the 24-point rout:
Cook rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on the day, averaging 7.2 yards per carry. He also caught one pass for 27 yards.
This was certainly the best game of Cook's career. To put things into perspective, Cook came into Sunday's action with 367 yards and no rushing touchdowns on the season as a whole.
The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Florida State University, was originally selected by the Vikings in the second round (41st pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Cook's rookie campaign was unfortunately cut short due to a torn ACL he suffered in Week 4. Prior to the injury, Cook had accumulated 354 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
With the win, Minnesota moved to 7-6-1 and maintained its hold on the second and final Wild Card spot in the NFC. They will head on the road to take on the Detroit Lions next weekend before playing host to the NFC North champion Chicago Bears in the final game of the season on Dec. 30.
The Vikings are looking to make the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time since 2009. Last season, Minnesota won 13 games and ended up falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.
