Andre Iguodala has played alongside some of the greatest offensive players to ever exist during his time with the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson can erupt offensively like few others in the history of the game.

But the Warriors veteran also believes he's played with the best defensive player that the league has seen in the past decade. According to Iguodala, Milwaukee Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday is the best defender of this new generation of players.

Via The Athletic's Eric Nehm:

“He’s the best defender in the league, one of the best defenders I’ve ever seen, and the best defender of his time,” said the Warriors veteran.

The two played together for three seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before Iguodala was traded away to the Denver Nuggets and eventually made his way to the Warriors. Since then, Holiday has turned into the premiere guard defender in the league with several high-stakes shutdowns of opposing guards under his belt.

“You saw what he did in the NBA Finals last year,” Iguodala said. “He guarded Chris Paul. He guarded Devin Booker. They’d just go the complete opposite way of him and that’s a generational talent. It’s kind of like a Kyrie (Irving) or a Steph (Curry) or Kevin Durant on offense, he’s that guy on defense.”

Andre Iguodala knows a thing or two about defense after being the Warriors' Swiss army knife defender during their titles runs. He earned a Finals MVP trophy thanks to his defense on LeBron James in the 2015 NBA Finals. While there are several NBA defenders who have made an impact over the past decade, Iguodala doesn't put any of them over Jrue Holiday.
