STOCKTON, Calif. — It was the first time in almost a year Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman played in a professional game. The talented big man made his NBA G League debut with the Santa Cruz Warriors on Thursday as he continues to recover from a torn meniscus suffered last April 10.

The second-year Warriors center had an excellent game in a losing effort. Wiseman racked up 18 points and six rebounds while shooting 7-of-13 from the field in only 20 minutes of play.

“It felt like a dream,” Wiseman told ClutchPoints. “It's been like 10 months. I was just shocked to be out there. I'm grateful and super appreciative.”

It was actually 11 months for Wiseman, but the sentiment is the same. He started the game missing his first three shots, and you could tell the center’s timing was a little off. He was subbed out without scoring a basket. Once he returned to finish the first quarter, he got a turnaround hook shot to go down, and that's when the night took off.

The short-range shot got Wiseman going for the rest of the game. The Warriors youngster moved faster on both ends of the floor and started to impact the game. His hustle and ability to run ended up getting him a transition dunk before halftime:

In the second half, the impressive performance continued. Wiseman finished with the highest plus-minus on the team with a plus-9. While he couldn't help the team get the win, it was a huge victory for Golden State.

Wiseman is scheduled to play another game with Santa Clara on Sunday. If he has another solid performance with no setbacks, you may see him on the court with Stephen Curry and the gang next week.
