The Golden State Warriors received a lot of stick when they decided to create the superteam of superteams when they brought in Kevin Durant as a free agent some six years ago. This was right smack in the middle of the Dubs dynasty, and the general sentiment was that the Warriors were ruining the landscape of the NBA by adding one of the top players in the league into their already-stacked roster.

Dubs team owner Joe Lacob is having none of that slander, though. Speaking on a recent episode of Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner's Point Forward podcast, Lacob dropped a truth bomb on how any other team in their position would have done what they did when they signed Durant back in 2016:

“I understand why they got mad at us for the Durant thing but anyone else would have done it too, if you want to go there,” Lacob said, via Ali Thanawalla of NBC Sports. “That's the truth.”

He's not lying here. Who in their right mind would have passed up the opportunity to sign one of the top players in the league if they had the chance? It just so happened that KD picked the Warriors, and they gladly obliged.

This resulted in the Warriors winning two titles in the three years Kevin Durant was with them. There's no denying that they had a bit of an unfair advantage over the competition, but the truth is, not a single team in the league would have passed up that opportunity.
