Anthony Slater of The Atlantic has an update on Golden State Warriors rookie Jordan Bell's injury.

Bell sustained the ankle inflammation during the game against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center last Wednesday. On the first possession of the ball game, he tried to block a dunk from Bulls center Robin Lopez, only to fall down awkwardly and violently.

The young forward's ankle appeared like it bent the wrong way, reminding everybody of the Gordon Hayward injury earlier in the season. Thankfully it wasn't even nearly as bad as Hayward's injury, but Bell needed a wheelchair to get off the court.

“I'm good. It's not broken,” Bell said, as per Mercury News. “I've had worse injuries, so that's good.”

The Warriors will definitely miss Bell. The rookie is averaging 5.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. That may not look like impressive numbers. But we have to remember that the Warriors are pretty consistent in giving minutes to almost all of their players.

The temporary absence of Bell in the rotation may mean more minutes for the likes of Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala — both are not particularly healthy as well.

But the fact that the injury is currently seen as an ankle inflammation is still good news. And hopefully the Warriors will receive more good news in two weeks once Bell's ankle is reevaluated.

The Warriors ended up winning the Bulls game 119-112 when Bell sustained the injury. Bell only logged 24 seconds of playing time in the game before going down to injury.
