Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson is a man on a mission to show everyone that he's still an elite player despite his ACL tear, according to teammate Damion Lee.

During the “Runnin' Plays” podcast with Kerith Burke and Grant Liffmann of NBC Sports Bay Area, Lee revealed what Thompson's goal for the 2020-21 season is.

What kind of 2020-21 season does Damion Lee expect from Klay Thompson when the three-time NBA champion finally returns to game action?

“I feel like he wants to show people that he is the best two-way guard in the league,” Lee said. “He's done it before. He's in a pretty good mind space. I think he's just ready to go out there and play.”

In 2018-19, Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Warriors. The five-time All-Star and three-time champion also shot 46.7 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

During the 2019 playoffs, where the Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals in six games, Thompson put up 20.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. The future Hall of Famer tragically tore his ACL in Game 6, which was the final game the Warriors played at Oracle Arena.

When the 2020-21 campaign starts, the Warriors should be playoff contenders again, as Stephen Curry, Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins will take the floor together for the first time as a foursome.

The Warriors will also have a top pick in the 2020 draft unless they trade the pick for a star.

Dubs fans certainly can’t wait to see Thompson back in the lineup. The Warriors are going to be on a mission next season to prove to everyone that the dynasty isn’t over just because Kevin Durant is gone.
