Golden State Warriors swingman Alfonzo McKinnie is quickly getting in the good graces of Dubs fans after the strong start he has had to the season. As it turns out, the 6-foot-8 forward is also winning over his teammates, with Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson recently singing McKinnie's praises.

According to Thompson, McKinnie has a knack for consistently making his first attempt from the floor.

“It's unbelievable, honestly,” Thompson said, per ESPN's Nick Friedell. “I don't want to jinx the man, but he makes his first shot every time he comes into the game. Since the preseason, since I've been seeing him play.”

Thompson also went on to say that McKinnie — who is currently averaging 6.8 points on 57.7 percent shooting, 1.1 3-pointers, and 4.1 rebounds in just 14.7 minutes of action for the Warriors — has become a crucial part of the rotation.

“He's so efficient and he fills up such a great role for us as far as his defensive versatility, his ability to rebound, his ability to knock down jumpers,” he added.

Thompson explained how happy he was for his Warriors teammate for all he has achieved thus far.

“He's a great athlete and I cannot believe the guy hasn't been in the NBA for years now,” exclaimed Thompson. “He took a crazy path and he deserves everything he's doing because he works really hard. I'm proud of Zo. He's a great player and he's going to be a great addition for us all year.”

McKinnie, 26, had stints in Luxembourg and Mexico before becoming a G League mainstay over the past two years. After being waived by the Toronto Raptors last July, he eventually found his way to the Warriors, where he has now officially made his mark in the league.
