Juan Toscano-Anderson didn't exactly wow the basketball world during his appearance in this past season's Dunk Contest. Gary Payton II may want to redeem his Golden State Warriors teammate for next season's spectacle, but he will need to work on his dunks a bit more.

On Tuesday's practice ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, Payton nearly finished what would have been an eye-popping alley-oop from Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. Unfortunately, the stunt ended in disaster (h/t Warriors on NBCS on Twitter):

Not only did Payton end up missing the dunk (nice bounce pass from coach Steve, by the way), but to add insult to injury, the Warriors swingman got hit in the head by a wayward ball right after his botched dunk attempt. Naturally, it produced quite a few laughs from his teammates. Coach Kerr could only hold his hands to his head as he saw the entire thing transpire.

The Warriors are in a jovial mood right now, but they're going to be all business on Wednesday. Game 3 is on Boston's home court and you can be sure that the Celtics will be out for some revenge after their Game 2 shellacking at the hands of Golden State.
