When Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was informed that the Houston Rockets already traveled to the Bay Area even before his team eliminated the L.A. Clippers, he admitted to Mark Medina of The Mercury News feeling weird about it.

“I felt weird because our team already had been guilty about mentioning Houston before the Clippers season ended … Now the Clippers have two different teams that are insulting them.”

It seems that both teams are already preparing for each other as early as the middle of the first round. A couple of days ago, the Warriors themselves admitted that they are closely monitoring the first-round series between the Rockets and the Utah Jazz.

Of course, everything went according to their plans as both teams advanced to the Western Conference semi-finals and Game 1 of their series will begin Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors and the Rockets met each other in last year's Western Conference finals, with the former emerging victorious in a classic seven-game series.

Houston will be looking to get even with Golden State, and they are doing all the necessary preparations to get every advantage possible as they once again attempt to take down the two-time defending champions.

Both teams have no intentions to disrespect their opponents in the first round, but it is what it is. They have already anticipated that they will meet each other in the next stage of the playoffs, and that's exactly what happened.

The Warriors-Rockets rematch is on!
