The Golden State Warriors have lacked the furious pace with which they've hit the All-Star break the last few seasons. No commanding lead over the next best team in the West or a point differential that strikes fear over other championship hopefuls in the league.

Despite of that, head coach Steve Kerr isn't sweating their position in the standings, or the fact that they're trailing the Houston Rockets by a half game — determined to make health his top priority.

“Rest will definitely win out over everything else,” Kerr said, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “Health is the No. 1 priority. So what that means is if a guy's banged up, we're not going to push him to try to get the 1 seed. If a guy needs a rest, he's going to get a rest.”

Kerr's players have also played no mind to how the team has performed compared to others, instead eyeing their own performance.

“I don't even look at the standings,” Draymond Green said. “We haven't even talked about it.”

“Best record?” Kevin Durant added. “That's not even a thing. It's about playing good basketball every night. If we don't play good basketball, we'll lose.”

But it was Kerr who made the emphasis on maximizing the team's own potential, rather than looking at what others are achieving.

“I don't really care about anybody else,” he said. “It's not to say I don't watch the other great teams. I do. Houston, Cleveland, Boston, I watch the best teams every night on League Pass. But I honestly don't care how everyone else in the league is doing.”

“I care about how we're doing. I don't know that our guys will play any differently based on the results of other teams. It should be about us and our standards. That should be enough.”

The Warriors have one of the easiest remaining schedules, along with the Charlotte Hornets and the Philadelphia 76ers, a great advantage they could exploit down the stretch by resting players and winning the few key games they have remaining.
