Kevin Durant can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019, and many NBA executives expect him to leave the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst.

Durant re-signed with the Warriors in July on a one-plus-one deal. The nine-time All-Star will make $30 million this season and $31.5 million for the option year in 2019 if he picks it up. Durant, though, will likely decline that option and enter the open market since more money will be available to him.

Since joining the Warriors back in 2016 in free agency, Durant has won two championships and two Finals MVPs. Barring something unforeseen, Durant and the Warriors are likely going to win the title again this season. At some point, Durant has to look for a new challenge, right? Only time will tell, but it appears some around the league believe that's what's going to happen. Even Warriors beat reporters see the smoke billowing.

Durant has been linked to joining the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and even possibly going back to the Oklahoma City Thunder. No one really knows what he's thinking or going to do.

One thing is certain: Kevin Durant's summer free agency is going to be a frequent talking point this season in Golden State.
