Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Deepak Chahar tied the knot to his long-time girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj earlier this week. On Friday, several past and present cricketers attended the couple's wedding reception at the ITC Maurya Hotel in Delhi. While Suresh Raina missed out on all the action in this season's IPL, he and the Indian cricket team's opening batter Ishan Kishan danced their hearts out on the occasion.

Other Indian players who were clicked at the grand event in the national capital were Rishabh Pant, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh.

However, it was Suresh Raina and Ishan Kishan's dance moves at the reception that caught everyone's attention.

The duo was on a different level altogether as they came up with a high-energy performance on the night.

It is not the first time that Suresh Raina's dance has earned him plaudits from the fans.

Earlier this year, he posted a video on Instagram where he could be seen performing the hit “Srivalli” song from the Telugu blockbuster “Pushpa – The Rise”, which stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead.

Australian opener David Warner started the trend as he came up with a video, replicating Allu Arjun's performance in the chart-topping number. Impressed by Warner's killer dance moves, Raina recreated the actor's hook step in the Srivalli song of the blockbuster film.

“I couldn't stop but try this myself,” the cricketer wrote in the caption of the video he posted on Instagram.

Raina also praised Allu Arjun for his brilliant acting in the movie that was directed by Sukumar.

Suresh Raina said: “Allu Arjun, what an incredible performance in Pushpa brother! Wishing you lots of success!”

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar made a public announcement of his marriage with Jaya as he described the sacred ceremony as “one of the best moments of my life”.

“When I met you the first time, I felt that you are the one and I was right. We have enjoyed every moment of our life together and I promise to keep you always happy like this. One of the best moments of my life. Everyone pls give your blessings to us,” Deepak posted on social media.

Hours before the reception, speculation was rife that CSK captain MS Dhoni and ex-India skipper Virat Kohli were to attend the event. but whether the two biggest superstars of Indian cricket were present at the get-together was yet to be known.

Interestingly, Deepak Chahar popped the question to Jaya Bhardwaj in the most romantic fashion possible, in the stands during IPL 2021 in the UAE.

Talking about Deepak Chahar's wedding, the ceremony took place at the luxurious Jaypee Palace hotel in Agra where the pair got hitched in an intimate ceremony with his cousin Rahul Chahar, other friends, and relatives in attendance.

Chahar, however, isn't the first cricketer to tie the knot in recent times. In December 2020, former Royal Challengers Bangalore and India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot with YouTuber Dhanashree Verma in Gurugram, a suburb of New Delhi, the national capital.

The same year, Hardik Pandya also joined the bandwagon as he got hitched to Serbian model, actress, and dancer Natasa Stankovic after announcing their engagement on Instagram a couple of months ago. Hardik and Natasa are now parents to a son named Agastya.

Earlier this month, ex-India cricketer and coach Arun Lal, coach of the Bengal cricket team got married for the second time. At 66, Lal wed his long-time girlfriend Bulbul Saha in Kolkata on May 2. According to several reports, Lal took consent from his wife before saying yes to the marriage.

Coming back to Deepak Chahar's cricket career, the 29-year-old missed the 2022 edition of the IPL because of a back injury. Earlier during the tournament's mega auction, CSK reacquired him for an amount of $1.8 million (140 million INR).

So far during his IPL career, Chahar has picked up 59 wickets in 63 matches at an impressive average of just over 29. Yet it was 2019 which changed his fortunes as he took 22 wickets in 17 games for MS Dhoni’s side.

Two years later, his 14 wickets proved instrumental as a dominant CSK raced through to their fourth IPL title.

For Team India, Deepak Chahar has produced a couple of highly impressive all-round performances, single-handedly winning games for the side with his contributions with both bat and ball.

He has taken 10 wickets in 7 ODIs, while Chahar has 26 wickets to his name in 20 T20Is games for India.

Deepak Chahar's display with the bat has been significant as well as he has smashed two half-centuries in 50-overs cricket with an innings of 54 coming against South Africa in January this year.
