Jon Gruden and Derek Carr have a new toy in Oakland. The Raiders were able to make the biggest splash of the offseason and trade for Antonio Brown. The Bills were thought to have a deal in place, but Brown was not thrilled about going to Buffalo.

This is a move that the Raiders desperately needed. They are coming off of a season where they went 4-12 in Gruden's first season back as a head coach. Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper were shipped out of town, so the Raiders needed a superstar on the team to replace them.

Brown will be playing with quarterback Derek Carr next season. The former MVP candidate took a huge step back last season. This is something that Raiders fans are hoping is a temporary speed bump. He threw for 4,049 yards with just 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The Raiders have one of the strangest rosters in the league filled with a mix of young players and veteran players.

In Pittsburgh, Brown has put up crazy numbers for the last six seasons. Brown is coming from a team that had a future Hall of Fame quarterback, a great head coach, and a long list of other weapons besides him. In Oakland, Brown will be playing with a quarterback who is trying to return to form, a head coach who did not impress in his first season, and questionable weapons.

There are a lot of thoughts and speculations about how Brown will do in Oakland. So what should fans expect from the star receiver?

Consistency

Brown has eclipsed 1,200 yards in seven of the last eight seasons. He has led the league in yards twice during that span. Brown has racked up six straight seasons of 100 or more catches including seasons with 129 and 136. His touchdown numbers are through the roof. Also, Brown has shown the ability to stay on the field. He has missed just four games since 2013. The bottom line is, he has been the league's best receiver for half a decade now.

In Oakland, his production might take a hit, however, it is hard to imagine that he will finished under 100 catches and 1,000 yards. Brown's consistency is a huge aspect that has him up there with the all-time greats. The question remains can Carr get him the ball, and will Brown fit into Gruden's offense. Brown is one of the best route runners in the game. He is open on almost all plays. Because of this, his numbers will be right up there with the rest of his career.

Drama

There has to be a negative to this trade. It is that Brown has the reputation of being a problem when unhappy. He is not the type of player who likes to battle through adversity. All the proof is in his messy breakup with the Steelers. He has openly criticized decisions made by his coach and quarterback. Based off of last season, this means he will have a lot to say playing with Gruden and Carr.

The Brown saga was brought upon by himself. He seems to be a fan of adversity. Whether it is not getting the ball enough or disagreeing with decisions, Brown will speak his mind. While the Raiders are getting a great player on the field, they are also getting a diva wide receiver who needs to be kept happy to perform.

Despite the drama, this remains a good trade for Oakland. They were in need of a big splash, and Brown is exactly that. One thing that is for sure is that all eyes will be on the Raiders in week one.
