The Los Angeles Lakers are back in the NBA Finals playing a team that often runs two big men together. It's a stark contrast to some of the recent Death Lineups of the Golden State Warriors or even this season's Houston Rockets lineup. Small ball seemed to be the new trend, but the Lakers have gone in a different direction, and it's working well.

On the daily Locked On Lakers Podcast, hosts Anthony Irwin and Pete Zayas (LakerFilmRoom) explain that, while there's one area of the game where the Miami Heat have the upper hand, the Lakers should be able to combat it.

Anthony Irwin: I think it's going to be Lakers in five games. I just think the Lakers are too big, but there are definitely some aspects of this Miami team that really make me nervous. In terms of Miami's defense, they don't have anybody as gifted as Jerami Grant is individually on defense as an on-ball defender.

Pete Zayas: I disagree, I like Bam quite a bit on that end.

Irwin: If we're saying that Bam is guarding AD; I'm talking about who is going to be guarding LeBron, I should have clarified. If Bam is out there, chances are if he's focusing in on one player, it's probably going to be AD, and even there I think Spo uses him more in a centerfield kind of role.

It's a quality versus quantity kind of thing. They can come at LeBron with a fresh Iguodala, a fresh Jae Crowder, or a fresh Jimmy Butler. They can just kind of come at LeBron with different looks and in waves. Eventually, Jerami Grant broke down, eventually LeBron kind of figured him out.

That's the stuff that offensively for the Lakers and defensively for Miami that I would be somewhat nervous about, but I'm not really concerned about the zone. Like I've said, I think if they go zone and put Dragic down low, then I don't think there's any way he can get any rebound on either AD or JaVale or Dwight.

Pete: I think they'll do that with those end of first quarter and third quarter lineups where we've got AD in the game as the five and Rondo's in. If you've got LeBron and AD on the floor, you can't do it. If you've got LeBron and a vertical threat big, I don't think you can do it. Or, if you've got just Rondo with AD and Dwight or something like that, I don't think you can do it. I do think that one part of the game is the one place I think we'll see the two-three zone more than others.
