The Washington Wizards were hoping to bounce back strong against the Portland Trailblazers after their miserable loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. However, they were going to have their hands full against the Blazers' dynamic backcourt pairing of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.

If the Wizards were going to break out of their current funk and get back into the win column, then they would need one of their players to provide a spark. Fortunately, shooting guard Bradley Beal gave them just that by tallying a career-high 51 points on Tuesday night.

It was an impressive outing, to say the least. Beal was virtually unstoppable from everywhere on the court as he hit 21 of his 37 total shots. What is even more impressive, is that he barely recorded any of his points from the free-throw line, where he finished 4-of-5.

Instead, Bradley Beal did most of his work on the perimeter after nailing five of his 12 three-point attempts. More importantly, he helped the Wizards pull out the 106-92 win.

It goes without saying that the Wizards offense has been seriously lacking in the absence of superstar point guard John Wall. As the second primary scoring option on Washington, it has undoubtedly fallen on Beal to carry the load with Wall out.
