The Washington Wizards are likely to have star point guard John Wall back in the lineup when they finally return home from a five-game road trip to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Per Turner Sports’ David Aldridge:

All signs point to John Wall returning for the Wizards Wednesday in D.C. versus the Grizzlies, per source.

Wall has missed the Wizards’ last eight games — nine if he also misses Tuesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets — after undergoing a platelet-rich plasma procedure on his left knee. The eight-year pro and four-time All-Star is averaging 20.3 points and 9.2 assists in 34.4 minutes per game this season.

The Wizards have gone 4-4 in the eight games Wall has missed thus far, with three of those losses coming by five points or fewer.

Bradley Beal had his wobbles as the undisputed No. 1 option for the Wizards with Wall out, but he has come up with big games recently. He’s averaging 36.7 points over his last three games, including a career-high 51 points against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Wall will have a golden opportunity to mark his return with a win as the Wizards take on a struggling Grizzlies team which has lost 14 of its last 15 games.
