A new video has surfaced in the incident involving Washington Wizards point guard Isaiah Thomas and a couple of Philadelphia 76ers fans on Saturday, which resulted in the ejection of all three individuals.

In the video, Thomas is seen calmly approaching and talking to the fans, which lines up with the veteran guard's version of how the events transpired.

Fred Katz of The Athletic acquired the video from Bill Finnegan, a fan who sat right in front of the fans who wound up getting ejected:

Thomas himself provided more insight on the moments leading up to the confrontation, explaining that it all began with a Wendy's Frosty:

“When I missed the first free throw and made the second, I’m running back and the fan has both of his middle fingers up and said, ‘Fuck you, bitch!’ three times,” Thomas said, via Fred Katz of The Athletic. “So then the timeout goes and I go in the stands to confront him. I say, ‘Don’t be disrespectful.’ I’m a man before anything and ‘be a fan.’ And his response was, ‘I’m sorry. I just wanted a Frosty.’”

The Sixers run a promotion called “Wendy's Frosty Freeze-Out.” If a player misses consecutive free throws in the second half in Philadelphia, fans get a Small Frosty. Hence, this fan was upset with Thomas for missing the first free throw but then making the second one, which denied the Frosty bid. Of course, the fan went way over the line.

Thomas went on to explain that he was merely protecting his dignity in what he deemed to be insults that went way overboard:

“In no way, shape or form that should be allowed,” he said. “I’ve been in the league for a while. The fans (are) gonna say whatever they want. Don’t ever call me out of my name, because I would never do that to anybody else. I think that crossed the line. I got kids. I got a family. That’s not OK at all, so I just went to go tell him that (in) no disrespectful way, as calm as I am right now. And those are the three things I said and that was his response.”

Thomas was ejected after 25 minutes played, with the 5-foot-9 guard logging 20 points (on 5-of-13 shooting), two 3-pointers, and two assists. The Wizards lost out against the home side, with the Sixers coming out on top, 125-108.

Washington is 8-20 on the season.
