The Washington Wizards beat the Detroit Pistons 119-116 in overtime Wednesday night. Despite blowing a 13-point 4th quarter lead, the Wizards pulled the game out thanks to Kyle Kuzma who sank the game winning triple with less than a second left in the game.

Kuzma led the Wizards with 26 points in the win, with teammate Bradley Beal chipping in 25. However, it was something Kuzma did earlier in the game that has got him into some hot water with the league.

Early in the 4th quarter with Washington leading by six points, Kuzma drained a corner three. He then turned around and flipped off a fan in the front row.

The NBA is having no part of that and has decided to fine Kuzma $15,000 for his hand gesture, according NBA Insider Shams Charania.

In his first season with the Wizards, Kuzma has taken on a leadership role and is 3rd on the team in scoring, averaging over 13 points per game. He is also pulling down over eight rebounds per contest for the Wizards, leading the team.

Washington has been one of the biggest surprises in the early part of this NBA season. Following Wednesday's overtime victory, the Wizards improved to 15-11.

They are tied with the Miami Heat for 4th in the Eastern Conference standings. They are also only 2.5 games behind the Brooklyn Nets for the top spot. Their next game is Saturday at home vs the Utah Jazz.

Then the Wizards head on a 6-game road trip and will not play at home again until after Christmas.
