The feud between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins has been one of the most entertaining rivalries in the WWE. The two megastars captivated the audience with their superb promo skills and excellent in-ring work. Both men were booked for what was supposed to be an eye-popping Hell in a Cell match.

However, there has been a rather big setback to this match. Ahead of his main event match at Hell in a Cell, WWE announced that Cody Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral muscle. The star will reportedly continue on in his match with Rollins, but it's going to be a grueling battle for the ex-AEW star.

Rhodes reportedly suffered his injury during a brawl with Rollins on an episode of Monday Night RAW. While it seemed like not a major injury initially,  the WWE star reaggravated the injury during a weight training session. Despite that, though, Rhodes is intent on putting on the promised show for the fans.

Pectoral injuries are rather tough to deal with for professional wrestlers. Many former WWE superstars have missed significant time due to a torn pec. Notably, John Cena took significant time off from wrestling after suffering a torn pectoral injury in 2007. He did, however, return to a thunderous ovation in 2008.

The injury comes at an unfortunate time for Rhodes, who has been dazzling in his return to the WWE. The American Nightmare came back to the company during Wrestlemania to face off against Rollins. It seems like any major plans Rhodes may have for the WWE title will have to be put on hold.
