Yancy Medeiros has known Nate Diaz for a long time and is the perfect person to speak on the UFC fighter's future. There is a lot going on for the younger Diaz brother as he's looking to fight Dustin Poirier and finish his contract with the UFC.

Many seem to question if Nate Diaz actually wants to fight Dustin Poirier in the UFC. Yancy Medeiros has no doubts he wants the fight and points to the fact that he actually asked for the fight instead of being forced.

“Nate wants it,” Medeiros told ClutchPoints. “He wants to fight [Dustin] Poirier and just get on with his brand. I definitely feel a lot of companies are gonna want to pick him up and implement him in their promotions, and venue. He's just a great investment for anybody. Hopefully, the UFC gets that fight down. Because when he wants to fight someone, he always performs his best. They always give guys like, ‘Oh, you gotta fight him. You gotta fight them.' But when he wants to fight someone it's always a good show.”

Nate Diaz has only one fight on his contract and it seems like he may be looking to leave the UFC. He has been pushing hard for the organization to book him early in 2022.

“I think he just wants to fight so he can start implementing his business. Just like how Conor [Mcgregor] and everybody else does it. He's just as big a name. He knows his worth and he definitely wants what he's worth.”

The future is a bit complicated as Nate Diaz has plenty of options outside of the UFC and he sees his value. Yancy Medeiros believes he still wants to fight in the UFC but he needs to be valued.

“He's gonna keep fighting but ‘just give me this fight so I can get it over with.' When does Nate ask for a fight? Give him a fight! Like, come on. I'm pretty sure you can answer those why's, like why can you not do that? Everyone thinks this is gonna be a great fight. So why not give it to him? They do that for everybody else, right? ‘Why are they not going to do that for me?'”
