Josh Brolin, who played Thanos in the MCU and Cable in Deadpool 2, wants to be in Deadpool 3. However, he hasn't received the call.
Speaking to The Playlist for their Bingeworthy TV podcast, Brolin discussed the upcoming MCU film.
“Am I? Yeeeesssss! I so wanted to be in that movie,” he laughed.
“[Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than Outer Range will ever be, my friend,” he explained. “And I will never know where that went or what that is or what I’m involved with or what I’m not involved with —the MCU being involved now. Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun.”

Of course, it's important to take Brolin's comments with a grain of salt. Even if he's in Deadpool 3, Marvel Studios would want to keep that a secret.
After all, Brolin is a rare case where he has several options. Similar to how Michael B. Jordan could play the Human Torch from Fox's Fantastic Four or Killmonger from the MCU, Brolin could appear as Cable from Fox's Deadpool 2 or Thanos from the MCU. Either option would make for a mind-blowing moment.
He began his MCU tenure in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. Brolin's Thanos served as the main antagonist of Avengers films Infinity War and Endgame. He also voices the role in the Disney+ series, What If?
The character was last seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. An alternate reality version of Thanos was seen.
Additionally, Brolin played Cable in Deadpool 2.

What is Deadpool 3 about?
Deadpool 3 will team the title character, played by Ryan Reynolds, with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). They will embark on a mission that will have ramifications on the MCU timeline.
The film will seemingly merge Fox's X-Men universe with the MCU. This will mark the first Deadpool adventure to take place within the confines of the franchise. Other returning players include Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.
Matthew MacFadyen will star in the film as a TVA (Tim Variance Authority) agent who recruits Deadpool for the mission. Emma Corrin will play Cassandra Nova, the film's antagonist.
Making their long-awaited return to Marvel films is Jennifer Garner. She will return in Deadpool 3 as Elektra, a role she previously played in her own solo film as well as the 2003 Ben Affleck-led Daredevil film. Aaron Standford will also reprise his role of Pyro from the X-Men films.
Of course, the biggest return in Deadpool 3 is Hugh Jackman. He played Wolverine for Fox's X-Men films from 2000-17. His character was killed off in James Mangold's Logan. However, it appears that the Deadpool 3 Wolverine will be an alternate version of the character.
