The Green Bay Packers are set to face Jaren Hall and the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night. Both teams have identical 7-8 records and are fighting to remain alive in the NFC playoff picture. However, the Packers got some unfortunate injury news on wide receivers Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks, per Bill Huber of Packers Central.

‘While standout rookie receiver Jayden Reed practiced for a second consecutive day after missing last week’s win over Carolina, explosive receiver Christian Watson remains out with his hamstring injury and ascending rookie receiver Dontayvion Wicks didn’t practice following the chest injury sustained during last week’s end-of-the-first-half touchdown.'

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur mentioned that Wicks and Watson would likely need to practice on Friday to be able to play in Week 17, so this isn't encouraging news whatsoever.

Watson has been out since the December 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, so it has been a lingering injury for the young wideout. Wicks played in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers but left early with an injury, and there's a chance that both of them are absent in a must-win Week 17 NFC North battle.

Wicks, a fifth-round choice in the 2023 NFL Draft who played at Virginia, has 33 catches for 520 yards and two touchdowns this season.  Watson has 28 catches for 422 yards in five scores in just nine games in what has been an injury-riddled season.

If both of them are out, Romeo Doubs figures to be the leading contributor to the position with Jayden Reed right behind.
