With their struggles, the Los Angeles Lakers' chances to win an NBA championship this season are murky, to say the least. But LeBron James made one thing crystal clear this All-Star Weekend: wherever his son Bronny eventually lands when he gets to the league, the four-time NBA champion goes as well.

This surely isn't music to the ears of Lakers fans. But Lakers Nation is slowly learning that The King does whatever he wants. James has already built a Hall of Fame resume and one that could stand toe-to-toe with some of the greatest this game has ever seen. That's why at this point of his career, James looks hell-bent on accomplishing something very personal to himself and something that has never been done in the history of the NBA: to become the first father-son duo to play together.

With LeBron James already planting the seeds, here are the two best landing spots where he can team up with his son, Bronny.

2 best spots for LeBron James and Bronny

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James planted seed No. 1 when he said that the “door's not closed” on a potential return to Cleveland, per Jason Lloyd of The Athletic. It would certainly be a great narrative for LeBron and Bronny to make history in James' home state to play for the Cavaliers.

James has already left Cleveland twice. The first time in 2010 left a very sour taste in the mouths of Cavs fans as he bolted Cleveland for the bright sunshines in Miami and teamed up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Heat.

After winning two championships in four years with Miami, James came back home in the summer of 2014 and led the Cavs to four straight NBA Finals. He completed his triumphant return in 2016 when he led Cleveland to its first-ever NBA championship. James left the Cavs for the second time in 2018 and went to the Lakers, where he won another title in 2020.

Now, with James likely in the penultimate chapter of his storied career, he wants to make this final one closer to home by getting the chance to play with his son, Bronny. Where better place to do it than in Cleveland?

With All-Stars Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, and Rookie of the Year candidate Evan Mobley, this Cavs team is also shaping up to be a force for many years to come. Insert LeBron and Bronny in 2024, and this team could legitimately compete for a championship in what could be James' final season.

What a storybook ending that would be for one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

2. Oklahoma City Thunder

After offering high praise to Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Josh Giddey, James went on to give his flowers to Thunder GM Sam Presti:

There goes seed numero dos.

LeBron James already threw down the gauntlet to the entire league by saying that drafting Bronny basically gets him as well in a buy-one-take-one deal. That will certainly incentivize teams to take the four-time NBA MVP's son when he becomes draft eligible in 2024.

Brandon Rahbar of The Daily Thunder hinted just how Oklahoma City has positioned itself with its boatload of picks to use one of them on Bronny in an effort to lure the 18-time All-Star as well:

There is still no clear indication of just how high Bronny's ceiling will be. He's still just a 17-year-old kid playing in his junior year at Sierra Canyon High School. Bronny is currently a 4-star recruit and ranks 43rd on ESPN's 2023 high school class rankings.

The Thunder have at least three first-round picks in 2024 and could potentially have more if picks in the previous seasons don't convey. So, regardless of how Bronny's high school and college career pan out and where he lands in the draft rankings, OKC could certainly use one of those picks and buy high on Bronny if they want a one-year shot with a 39-year-old LeBron James on their squad.

At the rate he's playing in his age-37 campaign, it's hard to envision The King completely falling off a cliff. He should still be one of the better players in the league at that time and be able to help lead this Thunder team with a more experienced Josh Giddey and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the pack.

The King already thinks highly of Sam Presti. It wouldn't be shocking if this unfolds to a team-up in a few years. That is, of course, if they win the Bronny sweepstakes.
