The Chicago Bears seem to be in a rebuild at the moment, as the front office didn't quite bring in the haul of exciting players the fan base was hoping for. Even so, the defense is in a great spot and should keep Chicago in most of their matchups. Offensively, this franchise might struggle, which isn't ideal for Justin Fields' development. For that reason, we take a look at two moves the Bears must make to finalize their roster after the 2022 NFL Draft.

There are two key areas the Bears need to address to give Justin Fields a better chance in his second year. Those being the offensive line and wide receiver position. Luckily, Fields is quick on his feet and can escape messy situations. However, improving the trenches is imperative for his development. Additionally, finding one more consistent pass option would help this offense in the long run.

It's hard to believe the Bears make a trade that will drastically change the offensive outlook. For that reason, we should see Chicago dip their toes back into the free agency pool. There are plenty of offensive linemen and receivers available that would provide a nice boost to this offense. Keep an eye on this franchise, as the front office might make some key signings in June.

With that said, here are two moves the Bears must to complete their roster after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Bears Moves After 2022 NFL Draft

2. Acquire an offensive lineman in free agency

Chicago was smart in bringing in a ton of rookie offensive lineman this offseason. They'll all compete for a role on the roster, but usually, rookies don't play a major factor in their first year. With that in mind, the Bears would be wise to acquire a veteran or two from free agency to join the positional competition.

This will only result in a good outcome for this offense. The Bears would guarantee themselves the best possible offensive line, which helps Justin Fields immensely. Furthermore, football is a game won in the trenches, so the offense should improve overall as well.

Considering the Bears have two young assets at left and right tackle (Braxton Jones and Teven Jenkins), we should see the front office aiming for an interior offensive lineman or two in free agency. A few names that stand out are JC Tretter, Ereck Flowers, and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. If the front office reels in at least one of these players, then the offense will be in much better shape for the 2022 season.

1. Sign a veteran wide receiver

Bears fans were hoping for the front office to select one of the exciting prospect receivers in the NFL Draft. Instead, the franchise mainly focused on the defensive side of the ball. The team overall should be set up nicely in the long run, but the lack of offensive weapons is concerning for Justin Fields' development. Darnell Mooney is a solid pass option, but Chicago would benefit from adding one of the veterans available in the free-agent market.

It'll be interesting to see who the Bears might sign. Many teams across the league are waiting for June 1, 2022, for the cap space to clear up a bit. Once it does, Chicago should be all-in on acquiring one of the big-name free agent wide receivers.

Some names that pop out for Chicago are Will Fuller, Cole Beasley, and TY Hilton. Either of them would be a great addition to the Bears' roster. Fuller brings the speed necessary to stretch the field, Beasley is a great option out of the slot, and Hilton would be a fantastic veteran leader for the offense. The front office can't go wrong with anyone they sign right now, so keep an eye on this team for the remainder of the offseason.
