The Washington Wizards have been stuck in NBA limbo for quite some time. Despite procuring All-NBA level talent like Bradley Beal and John Wall, the Wiz have made minimal impact on the league as a whole. They have been in the draft lottery five times since 2012 but have yet to earn a top-two pick.

However, this year's NBA offseason could be promising for the Wizards. With a stocked draft, a handful of stars ready to move on from their respective teams and a top-ten pick at their disposal, Washington could be in position to make a big leap this summer. Here are three trades the Wizards can make with the No. 10 pick to make a jump this season, though it must be noted they are subject to the Stepien Rule, which could affect the timing of certain deals.

Move up, select a premier young talent

Simply put, this year's draft is unbelievably talented. The projected top three picks all have potential to end up as All-NBA talents and the best player in the class. It is unlikely the Wizards jump this far, but they could move up to four and get the next best thing. With guards Jaden Ivey and Shaedon Sharpe floating around the four spot on many mock drafts, Washington could be enticed by the high-ceiling guards.

The Kings may also be interested in moving on from the fourth pick. According to Michael Scotto, NBA executives believe the Kings have a “win-now” philosophy and could move the pick.

That in mind, the asking price for the pick could be too high, including Wizards star Bradley Beal. But if Washington's front office is that high on Ivey or Sharpe, it could be worth it.

Move the pick and young assets to bring in an established star

As mentioned, there are many NBA stars ready for new scenery. The Wizards could emerge as a landing spot using a sign-and-trade involving the No. 10 pick and young talents such as Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija or other roleplayers.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton has been linked in multiple trade rumors this offseason. If the Wizards are keen on the point guard, they are one of the few franchises with the capital for a sign-and-trade to be possible. Again, the asking price could be much too high for the Wizards. On the other hand, the former lottery pick has looked promising around Cleveland's young core, a dynamic Washington could replicate.

Just make the pick

This option is kind of cheating, as it's not a trade, but it's probably what Wizards fans want to hear. Both of the aforementioned trades come with the possibility of Beal's departure. The three-time All-Star and All-NBA wing has reportedly been leaning towards resigning with the Wizards on a lucrative deal.

With plenty of talent in this draft, there will be plenty of solid prospects to pair with Beal. The Wizards could pay Beal and then draft someone like Dyson Daniels, Jeremy Sochan or maybe a higher ranked prospect who falls on draft night. This also allows Washington to give other young pieces like Avdija and Hachimura more time to find their footing in D.C.

The Wizards must be careful to make the right decision amid all the discussion on trades and free agency. If they get too antsy about making a step in the right direction, they may not realize that the next step is sitting right in front of them.
