Rudy Tomjanovich's “Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion” quote rang true in the Milwaukee Bucks' thrilling Game 5 win over the Boston Celtics. Facing a 14-point deficit with just over 10 minutes remaining, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday led the charge to take the win and grab a 3-2 series advantage.

Antetokounmpo led a valiant effort down the stretch following a relatively sloppy game from Milwaukee. They (narrowly) lost the turnover battle, allowed more points in the paint than they scored and allowed the Celtics to shoot 51.2 percent from the field. The Bucks, though, shot 44.8 percent from deep and dominated the glass, securing 13 more rebounds (including 12 on the offensive glass).

Although the Bucks went long stretches without having a clue on offense, they pulled out the victory and are now one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. As the series heads back to Milwaukee, let's look at the three Bucks players who put them in a position to close out the Celtics.

3 biggest heroes from Bucks' incredible Game 5 comeback vs. Celtics

3. Bobby Portis

You must think that Bobby Portis is here for a particular late-game rebound. Well, you're partially right. That one rebound and putback shot was absolutely instrumental, but Portis had more key rebounds than just that one.

Portis' work on the glass for the Bucks throughout the entire game made him one of their key players. He recorded a game-high 15 rebounds in 28 minutes of playing time. The burly power forward had seven offensive rebounds, while Al Horford and Jaylen Brown led Boston with eight total rebounds.

In the fourth quarter alone, Portis recorded four offensive rebounds, helping Milwaukee record four second-chance points. The first two came from the free-throw line after he drew a foul on Horford. The latter two came in the biggest moment possible. With the Bucks needing a bucket to stay alive, Portis delivered:

Portis also contributed 14 points, the third-highest total for Milwaukee, albeit on 4-of-14 shooting from the floor. His rebounding, though, was massively important for the Bucks.

2. Jrue Holiday

While Holiday had lots of ugly moments in the contest, he also had some of its most brilliant.

Holiday scored 24 points, the second-most for the Bucks behind Antetokounmpo, on 9-of-24 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists. Despite not having his best shooting night, he made shots when it mattered (namely, two triples in the fourth quarter on two attempts) and gave Antetokounmpo enough scoring to keep the Bucks in it.

Then came the two moments that Jrue Holiday embarrassed Marcus Smart. Smothering his game-winning attempt and picking his pocket on the Celtics' last possession secured the win, and the series advantage, for the Bucks. For just these two insane plays alone, he was one of Milwaukee's biggest heroes:

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Obviously.

Portis and Holiday had their clutch moments, but it was because of Giannis Antetokounmpo's dominance that the game was competitive until the final buzzer. He scored 40 points on 16-of-27 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds. Although he also had more turnovers (seven) and fouls (five) than assists (three), there's no denying that he was the Bucks' most important player:

Antetokounmpo kept the Bucks going on offense all game long. His 13-point third quarter was especially huge, as he kept pace with Brown's 16 points in that quarter. The Greek Freak also scored 15 points in the second quarter and hit a clutch 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter with the Bucks down six and seemingly dead.

It's no secret that Antetokounmpo has been one of the very best players in this year's playoffs. For as long as that continues to be true, the Bucks will always have a shot to take the win.
