With the New Orleans Saints adjusting to several new changes within the organization over the past few seasons, it still left the door open for more big moves to come during the 2022 NFL offseason.

Now that they're set to begin a new era under Dennis Allen, there's bound to be more challenges in the Big Easy. The biggest area of need for them at the moment is at the quarterback spot where they' been lacking consistency ever since Drew Brees announced his retirement.

It has only been a year, but with Jameis Winston coming off an injury and set to be a free agent and the team still not set on naming Taysom Hill as their starter, it'll be on Allen and the Saints' front office to find a reliable man under center for them ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Let's now discuss the three reasons why the Saints must make a big splash at QB during the 2022 NFL offseason.

3. The Saints are long overdue for consistency at the QB spot

From Hill to Winston, the Saints were hitting teams with a few different looks at quarterback this past season, and even though they came within just one game of making the playoffs, they're still in need of a reliable playmaker at the position.

Even with the expectation of a relatively weak class of QBs in this year's NFL draft, the Saints will still have plenty of exciting options to explore this summer, especially with several big name quarterbacks set to hit free agency and coming up in a bunch of trade rumors of late.

One thing that is for certain, though, is that they need a steady and consistent presence in the pocket that can create for their other offensive superstars. So the Saints will need to put on an all-out effort in making this come into fruition.

2. New Orleans needs a major boost on offense

With Taysom Hill still recovering from a nagging thumb injury, Michael Thomas rehabbing for a high ankle sprain that kept him out all of last season, and now Alvin Kamara getting arrested and charged for battery assault that could alter how much playing time he'll see next year, the Saints desperately need a high production quarterback with strong leadership qualities.

New head coach Dennis Allen will definitely have his hands full trying to make everything come together for them on offense, and if they want to soften the blow, then adding a reliable and efficient presence in the pocket will be a big step in the right direction for them.

It all could come down to making the right move at quarterback.

1. Great opportunity for the Saints to get a fresh start

Now that big name players like Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz have been mentioned in several trade rumors of late, it opens up the possibility of New Orleans being able to bring in a Pro Bowl-caliber playmaker for an entire season and start a new era at the quarterback spot.

Plus with guys like Marcus Mariota and Taylor Heinicke entering NFL free agency this summer, they may be able to nab a quality veteran under center without having to give anything up. Both players would drastically improve their passing game and give them consistency at the position that could allow them to stay competitive while they wait for their other star offensive players to return to full strength.

This would also give the Saints the chance to start fresh, as there will be a ton of talent available to them during the 2022 NFL offseason.
