Just one year removed from a Pro Bowl-caliber season in which he posted 10 interceptions, 51 tackles, and two forced fumbles, Xavien Howard now finds himself on the trade block after failing to agree to terms with the Miami Dolphins on a contract extension.

Just two years into his current deal, Xavien Howard has already asked the Dolphins for more money and a restructured deal.

Currently planning to hold out for the duration of the year until the team caves to his demands, Xavien Howard may find himself on a new team come next season. With all this said, lets take a look at the four best trade destinations for him if the Dolphins decide to pursue a trade for him.

Xavien Howard trade destinations:

Seattle Seahawks

After boasting a historically bad defense all across the board last season, the Seattle Seahawks could use all the help they can get. Especially in their backfield, where Howard's skillsets would transform their secondary immensely. Between Howard and Adams, the Seahawks could have the most dynamic secondary in the league, and given the speed, strength, and athleticism of these two super stars, they would be shutting down the top receiving cores in the NFL on a weekly basis.

Similar to the way Tyrann Mathieu helped transform the Chiefs secondary, Adams would bring that same veracity to a Seahawks defense that has been wildly unstable since their legion of boom days that landed them back-to-back super bowl appearances. This is a move that would not only put the entire league on notice, but it would also give them another reliable super star come playoff time.

Pittsburgh Steelers

A strong start to the regular season that ended with a disappointing first round playoff exit, the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to re-tool and bounce back huge in 2021. An area of need for them is in their backfield where they could certainly use another set of savvy hands with stellar footwork. Well look no further because Xavien Howard would make for the perfect addition to a secondary that already possesses Minkah Fitzpatrick and Joe Haden.

With their agility, lateral quickness, and relentless attention to detail, a defensive trio of Xavien Howard, Fitzpatrick, and Haden would absolutely demolish any running backs or receivers that come their way. This acquisition would take the Steelers tough-nosed defense up a few notches and might even make them the league leader in interceptions and forced fumbles.

San Francisco 49ers

A super bowl contender that was plagued with injuries all across their roster for most of last season, the 49ers are a team looking to get back into the playoff mix this year. Just two seasons ago, they were sitting atop the NFC, now with a series of sweeping changes in play for them, they're looking get back to conference supremacy.

The addition of Xavien Howard gives them the number one cornerback that they've been searching for ever since their heart breaking super bowl loss from just a few seasons ago.

With Xavien Howard, the 49ers would have their missing link on defense that could also be a long-term solution for them at cornerback. If they want to take back the NFC by storm, then this is a trade that John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan should definitely take into consideration.

Washington Football Team

One of the fun surprises of last year, the Washington Football Team ended their season in an epic showdown with the eventual super bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Xavien Howard would help form a solid rotation of defensive backs and would be the ideal partner for Kendall Fuller at the cornerback slot.

With this young and exciting group as a potential dark horse playoff threat in the works, adding an electric defensive star in Howard would only improve their chances of making a deep playoff run next season. Howard would also add some much needed depth to the Washington secondary. Already boasting a top ten defense in the NFL, this move could seal them as a top five defensive squad and one of the most feared in the league.
