The NFL could be faced with the decision to play some of their regular-season games without large crowds due to the coronavirus. With months to go until the season starts, George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers spoke about the possibility of games being played without fans.

“Home games will definitely be weird but if I can go into Seattle or New Orleans without fans there, that will make my job at lot easier,” Kittle told #PFTPM on Friday. “I wouldn’t have to listen to anything. No more silent counts, nothing like that. That would make my life really easy.  Hey, I’ll play on the road. That’s fine. No worries with that.”

While San Francisco has improved as a team, they've seen an uptick in fans attending their home games at Levi Stadium. On the other hand, the 49ers still have a tough time on the road, having to face some of the most raucous crowds in the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints are renowned for having a home-field advantage when opposing teams come into Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The same can be said for the Seattle Seahawks, who's fans are nicknamed the '12th man'.

Nevertheless, Kittle and the 49ers were able to defeat both the Saints and Seahawks on the road in 2019. As a result, San Francisco was able to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Of course, playing NFL games without fans would take some time to adjust to for the players. Despite home-field advantages being eliminated, Kittle believes it would be more welcoming to play on the road in the event that the NFL is forced to conduct games minus the fans.
