The San Francisco 49ers are on their way to another Super Bowl appearance after an incredible display against the Green Bay Packers. He'll be headed to Miami for Super Bowl LIV, but there's more to this achievement other than being Kyle Shanahan's first Super Bowl as a head coach.

Hard Rock Stadium is the home of the Miami Dolphins and will be the venue of Super Bowl LIV. It was the same venue where Kyle's father, Mike Shanahan, won Super Bowl XXXIII. It was the same stadium where the elder Shanahan led the Denver Broncos to back-to-back Super Bowl titles by beating the Atlanta Falcons.

It will be a special moment for father and son if Kyle also manages to win a Super Bowl in the same stadium where his father his second Super Bowl ring. Mike Shanahan was an obvious inspiration for his son to take up coaching, and to win at Hard Rock would be a perfect nod to his father.

Moreover, a Super Bowl win would be a fitting end to a fantastic season where the fruits of collaboration between father and son was evident. The San Francisco head coach revealed to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area that his father takes time to watch his son's games and give him observations in spite of being out of the game since 2013.

“It’s kind of neat for me to have it where when he watches something or sees something, he tells me, ‘Hey, you guys should’ve done this or that.’” Kyle Shanahan said.

“I look into it what he says. And it’s nice to have another set of eyes. Where, ‘Hey, I missed that.’ I’ll go back and check that. Sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don’t.”

The Niners will face a tough opponent in the Kansas City Chiefs, but Shanahan has a team that can more than match up whatever Andy Reid throws at him.
