The San Francisco 49ers have their rookie locked up. According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, the team has agreed to a four-year contract worth $33.55 million with defensive end Nick Bosa.

Bosa was the first-round selection of the San Francisco 49ers this year taken second overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. He's expected to come in and immediately make a major impact on their pass rush defense.

Bosa is, of course, the son of John Bosa and brother of Joey Bosa – both having played in the NFL.

Joey Bosa famously held out for the first few games of his rookie season as he worked towards a deal with the Los Angeles (then San Diego) Chargers. It appears San Francisco doesn't have to worry about that with the younger sibling.

Last season, the 49ers went 4-12 – one game away from the worst record in the entire NFL. However, you could argue that they aren't nearly that bad. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo got injured very early in the year and missed the rest of the season. That derailed things for the 49ers.

Now they should have him back and things are definitely looking up with a young core of solid talent. Nick Bosa is one of the biggest names in that group and could be someone who puts up big numbers immediately.

For anyone that wants to keep score, Joey Bosa racked up 10.5 sacks in his rookie year. That would be impressive in a full season and he did so in just 12 games. Can Nick Bosa surpass that number? It seems like he'll have 16 games to do so.
