Forget on-field play. When situations like these arise, on-field play is the last of anybody worries. This is why nobody cares about Reuben Foster's on-field grade at the moment.
The young professional has finally touched on the two-game suspension handed down by the NFL through a statement, via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
“I accept the League’s decision and am sorry that my mistakes have hurt my team. I have a responsibility to the 49ers, our fans and our community, and I am committed to learning from this situation and making better choices in the future,” Foster said in a statement. “The support I have received over the last five months has been humbling, and I do not take it for granted.”
Foster, 24, has his entire career still ahead of him.
As the 31st overall choice in the 2017 NFL Draft by way of Alabama, Foster entered the league with great expectations to not only fill the interior of San Fran's defense, but to eventually quarterback the unit.
In playing just 10 games a season ago, Foster came away with 59 tackles and a pass deflection. Hopefully, this semi-ban from the league coupled with his apologetic words are the start of a complete 180-degree turn for the kid.
