The Miami Dolphins have struggled in recent years in terms of finding a reliable, well-rounded quarterback. It's fair to assume at this point Ryan Tannehill may never be that guy and there have been in recent reports suggesting the Dolphins may be cutting him altogether.

The best option the Dolphins have that would instantly provide them with some reassurance at the quarterback position is Nick Foles. Foles is currently with the Philadelphia Eagles, and there have been reports that they may wish to place him under the franchise tag. The Eagles veteran quarterback may want to explore NFL free agency and see a team in need will make him an offer. It's highly likely Foles will be a hot commodity if he does desire to venture away from the Eagles.

Considering Foles has never played an entire season and has been a backup recently, he could provide a lot of longevity and reliability going forward. Foles could be placed into an offense with a lot of talent, but also a lot of youth. Running back Kenyan Drake is the Dolphins most promising player on offense and possesses a lot of versatility at coming out of the backfield. Foles also would potentially have talented receivers in Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker.

Miami's defense is full of potential and had a good deal of success in 2018, but the offense had a tough time keeping them off the field especially during the second half of the season. The Dolphins likely won't be winning too many games next season if they surrender 30 plus points like they did seven times in 2018.

The Dolphins have one of the league's worst offensive lines in terms of efficiency throughout the 2018 season. This could be the one aspect that may deter Foles from wanting play for the Dolphins. Regardless of the situation at this point, the Dolphins should do whatever they can to acquire Foles as it's increasingly apparent how badly the team could use a player with his skill level.
