Call of Duty skins may become shareable to friends someday, reports Game Rant. The website reports that an unspecified ‘recent document' reveals that Activision is toying with this idea. With this feature in place, those who don't spend on skins or can't afford them will be able to enjoy Call of Duty skins at last. According to Game Rant, the owner of the skin will be able to set which of his or her cosmetics will be shareable. They can then set an amount of time for how long the cosmetic will be shared.

Shareable Call of Duty skins: for better and for good

The report says there's no specified way yet on how this rumored feature will be executed. Depending on how the feature will be implemented, it can either be a blessing or a curse for players.

It can be a blessing as Call of Duty skins can become more accessible than ever before. With all the controversies revolving around loot boxes, allowing these ‘exclusive' items to become shareable can help alleviate some issues. It can, for example, eliminate or subdue any feelings of FOMO. This can be especially helpful for limited-time skins that players can easily miss.

Meanwhile, this can also be a curse for players. One issue that Game Rant pointed out is how this system can be abused. There have been instances of “pay to win skins” in Call of Duty, such as the infamous Roze skin. The Roze skin may be a cosmetic, but the way it's designed makes the user almost invisible to other players. It effectively gives the owner of the Call of Duty skin added camouflage in a game that's all about quick reflexes. It obviously gives an unfair advantage locked behind a paywall. With this feature, a whole squad can gain access to the Roze skin even if just one of them bought it.
