It's been a rough going for NBA referees in the 2016 playoffs. With the institution of Two Minute Reports this year, every missed call in crunch time is exposed by the league after each game, and when it counts that much more in the playoffs, you better believe people get upset.

Despite all the missed calls in the postseason, commissioner Adam Silver wants all NBA fans to know that the officials are doing their best.

Silver said on ESPN's TMI show:

“I hear it and it's the most sensitive issue for me and it goes to the core integrity of the league and frankly to my integrity. All I can say is we do the best we can… There's no doubt that human error is a part of this game.”

The commissioner also specifically spoke to the decision by the league not to suspend Draymond Green after his kick to Steven Adams:

“I acknowledge that was a close decision on upgrading Draymond's kick to a flagrant-2. Ultimately we made a decision that he did not intentionally try to kick (Adams) in the groin.”

Overall, the conspiracy theories of the NBA being rigged is not a point of concern for Silver:

“I've been around the league long enough that I hear these conspiracy theories every year – that's not unique to this year… What the best you can hope for is the fans believing in the integrity of the officials, and that no one has a finger on the scale.”

With social media how it is these days, claims like these will likely grow in the years to come. As fans, we can only hope that the league continues to uphold its standards and produce a great product on the court.
