The Chicago Sky take on the Dallas Wings. Our WNBA odds series has our Sky Wings prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Sky Wings.

The WNBA schedule has produced a number of repeat matchups in the first week of the regular season. The Indiana Fever and New York Liberty are playing home and home games, one in Indianapolis and one in New York. The Seattle Storm and Minnesota Lynx have played each other home and home, first in Seattle and then in Minneapolis. In this matchup between the Chicago Sky and Dallas Wings, there's a twist: Instead of each team having one home game, both of these first-week matchups are on Dallas's home floor.

The first of the two meetings came on Wednesday. The score was tied entering the fourth quarter. Dallas scored 25 points in the final stanza to win by eight, 87-79. Chicago covered the 9.5-point spread. The Sky put five players in double figures, but the Wings countered with a big 25-point game from Arike Ogunbowale, complemented by three teammates scoring at least 13 points. To put Ogunbowale's 25-point game in perspective, the 2023 WNBA scoring champion was Seattle's Jewell Loyd, who averaged 24.7 points per game. Ogunbowale was the star of the game and the best player on the floor. If that's how this rematch unfolds, Dallas will like its chances. It's up to the Sky to find a way to contain the Notre Dame alumnus and college basketball national champion who has carved out a well-deserved reputation as a clutch bucket-getter.

Why The Sky Could Cover The Spread

The WNBA season is a long journey, and while the Sky lost to Dallas on Wednesday, they did cover the spread. They were dead-even on the scoreboard through three quarters but couldn't play elite defense in the fourth quarter. After allowing Dallas to bust loose in the final quarter of Wednesday's game, the Sky should be able to tighten things up a little in the rematch. Arike Ogunbowale played really well for Dallas against Chicago. Would you assume that Ogunbowale will drop another 25 points or more against the Sky, or would you take the opposite view and say that Ogunbowale will probably score fewer than 25 points in this rematch? If you think Ogunbowale will score under 25, you should probably lean toward Chicago against the spread.

Why The Wings Could Cover The Spread

The injury to Chicago's Kamila Cardoso is something which will linger for the Sky. They put up a good fight without her on Wednesday. Can they stay close without her in a rematch? Dallas took Chicago's best punch and still won by eight. With the point spread at -6 for this game — compared to -9.5 on Wednesday — Dallas has a much better chance of being able to cover the spread. The movement of 3.5 points toward Chicago gives bettors a chance to back Dallas at a much lower spread.

Final Sky-Wings Prediction & Pick

This is a game to stay away from. We told you to stay away on Wednesday when Dallas was favored by 9.5 points. The final margin was eight points. This game figures to be very close to the final number once again. If you want to make a bet, wait for a live play. If Chicago has a small second-half lead or is close in the fourth quarter, you might be able to get Dallas minus 1.5 points or a Dallas money line at a decent price.

Final Sky-Wings Prediction & Pick: Sky +6
