For over a month, All Elite Wrestling has bested WWE by scoring one million viewers on a weekly basis. The upstart wrestling company managed to achieve this feat by optimizing their talent and placing them in storylines fans can easily relate to. Before the year ends, AEW hopes to replicate its success in the card market as well.

During the recent National Sports Collectors Convention, Upper Deck announced they have acquired the license to manufacture tradings cards that feature AEW wrestlers. The card company added that they are targeting late October to early November for the release of their first set. No other details were given by Upper Deck, but they did promise more information will be released soon.

Meanwhile, collectors can expect AEW products to be released in various formats. In a tweet, Upper Deck confirmed that they will release card sets in hobby and retail offerings. These formats will give collectors substantial access to these products when they are released late this year.

In a statement, Upper Deck said that the company is looking forward to building a robust wrestling product portfolio For their part, AEW CEO Tony Khan stated that they are thrilled to work with the card company as they expand their engagement with fans all over the world.

As early as November last year, there have been rumors about AEW trading cards being released by Upper Deck swirling around. In an episode of The Young Bucks on their YouTube channel, Nick Jackson can be seen with a sticker sheet containing his signatures. The logo of said sheet was that of Upper Deck.

Once Upper Deck’s AEW products hit the market, collectors will have the chance to hunt the wrestling promotion’s biggest stars. Some of these include Chris Jericho, Sting, Cody Rhodes, and Kenny Omega, among others. For sure, these offerings will be a good product to invest in and provide compelling competition to Topps and WWE’s partnership in the card market.
