When it comes to AEW, one of the more confusing creative decisions in recent memory was the introduction of the All-Atlantic Championship.

The inaugural champion, who eventually turned out to be PAC, was to be decided in a tournament featuring wrestlers that were not located anywhere near the Atlantic Ocean, the concept of the belt was vaguely described as one that would be defended and challenged by international talent – except when it’s not – and the inaugural championship match was even marred by injury with Tomohiro Ishii having to be replaced by Clark Connors.

Well, now that the confusion has settled, and almost a week after winning the AEW All-Atlantic Championship in what turned out to be a fantastic four-way at Forbidden Door, it looks like PAC has his first defense lined up, and it’s not in an AEW ring, or an American ring, for that matter.

That’s right; PAC will be putting the “Atlantic” in All-Atlantic Championship by defending his belt at Revolution Pro in the U.K. on July 10th. But who will he be facing? Well, his first opponent will be a wrestler who also had an incredible Forbidden Door performance and happens to be on excursion with RevPro: Shota “Shooter” Umino.

Not only is this a near-guaranteed barn-burner of a match, but serves as a promising sign of how the All-Atlantic Championship will operate. PAC gets to return to RevPro for his first match with the promotion since 2019, gets to face off against a promising international talent, and AEW gets to further extend their reach worldwide.

Hopefully, this championship gets more defenses in the U.K. and beyond, as this could be a fun idea for everyone involved.
