LSU got off to a rough start under new head coach Brian Kelly when it was announced that projected starting quarterback Max Johnson was transferring from the program. Well, Johnson has decided where he will play next season. Per Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, the former Tigers quarterback is heading to Texas A&M to play for the Aggies.

This is quite the acquisition for the Texas A&M Aggies. Max Johnson appeared in 12 games for LSU this year, completing 60.3 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,814 yards and 27 touchdowns against six interceptions.

Johnson will now join his brother, four-star tight end recruit Jake Johnson, with the Aggies. So, former NFL quarterback Brad Johnson gets to watch one of his sons throw passes to the other at Texas A&M. Pretty amazing.

The Aggies got a close look at Johnson during a November game against LSU, when the sophomore threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a win over the Aggies.

Johnson fired a late, fourth-quarter score to clinch the victory for LSU over Texas A&M, likely endearing himself to the Aggies while simultaneously breaking their hearts at the same time.

Now, Johnson, along with his brother, will play for head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies next season. Meanwhile, Brian Kelly and LSU will have to continue their search for a starting quarterback.
