It has been a crazy couple of years for Alex Caruso. The former Texas A&M guard has gone from being an undrafted rookie to a key piece in the Chicago Bulls ongoing attempt at a 2020 NBA Finals run. Famously nicknamed Carushow during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Caruso’s NBA career is far from over. However, in this piece, we are here to look at the Bald Mamba’s personal life. Although Alex Caruso initially went undrafted in 2016, the 6’5” point guard quickly found a home with NBA G League team Oklahoma City Blue. After joining the Los Angeles Lakers in the following season’s Summer League, he quickly found a home with the team. In his years with Los Angeles, the Texas A&M product not only became a fan favorite, but even won the coveted NBA championship in 2020 as a key bench player.
In the 2021 offseason, Caruso signed with the Chicago Bulls and quickly proved his worth alongside an All-Star lineup that included Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach Lavine. Although he experienced a slight setback after fracturing his right wrist during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Caruso shortly returned to the lineup and is making a push with his team to finish the regular season on a high note.
Initially, fans only speculated about the the formerly undrafted guard’s relationship with Mia Amabile. Although Caruso had not yet posted about her at the time, he did leave several flirty comments under her Instagram posts, enough for watchful eyes to notice. At the time, Caruso’s most recent relationship was University of Tennessee-Knoxville alum Abby Brewer. They were first confirmed to be together in mid-2019, but quietly parted ways sometime in 2021.
Caruso and Amabile finally went public with their relationship in August, around the time Caruso signed a four-year, $37 million contract with the Chicago Bulls. In fact, the New York Post reported that Amabile posted a boomerang video of the former Laker fan favorite, adding a Bulls symbol to allude to the deal. Another well-known Instagram story of the couple was the one Amabile posted of she and her boyfriend looking cozy with the caption, “He’s a Jersey Shore boy.”
Amabile also previously made headlines for bringing a friend to watch her boyfriend’s current team go against his old one. Why, you may ask? Well, in another report from the New York Post, her best friend Deb Chubb roamed around wearing a bald cap and a Bulls sweatshirt seemingly impersonating Caruso. After the game, the Bulls guard’s girlfriend continued on with the joke. She posted several more stories dining out with Chubb, who still wore the bald cap and sweatshirt. In those posts’ captions, she joked, “Boyfriend looks so cute eating dinner,” and “Alex Caruso enjoying that W.” Say what you want, but it’s obvious Amabile has quite the sense of humor. In any case, Caruso and the rest of the Bulls did indeed enjoy their win that night after crushing the Lakers 121-103.
Amabile was born on June 19, 1996, younger than a little over a year than her beau, who was born on February 28, 1994. With that said, the 25-year-old is no slouch herself. First and foremost, she has amassed quite a huge Instagram following with 261,000 followers. But aside from being an accomplished model and influencer, Amabile is also a San Diego State University alum, where she graduated with a degree in Economics. According to Essentially Sports, Amabile has worked as a wholesale representative for Ete Swimwear. Most recently, however, she is a social media coordinator for LF stores.
The multitalented 25-year-old keeps busy maintaining and increasing her audience reach. Amabile has a YouTube channel, which despite only having a modest number of five total videos, is currently at 29,000 subscribers. She is also active on TikTok, where she posts random tidbits of her daily adventures. As of writing, Amabile has gained over 3.3 million likes and close to 173,000 followers.
Upon writing this piece, however, all of Amabile’s posts of and with Caruso are nowhere to be seen. Similarly, Caruso seems to have no photos of Amabile on his profile. They also do not appear on each other’s Instagram following list. If the couple did call it quits, there is no confirmation yet.
