One of sports and entertainment's most notable “power couples” is apparently no more. Singer and Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez and former MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez are reportedly splitting up after a two-year engagement, per the “Page Six” section of the New York Post.

Previous reports suggested the couple had restarted wedding plans. But it seems the pair are focused on individual priorities:

A source familiar with A-Rod told us of the broken-up pair on Friday, “He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic.”

Rodriguez and Lopez were engaged in 2019 after having dated for two years. They had to cancel the wedding plans twice, initially due to COVID-19. But there were subtle indications the postponements might have had something to do with the couple's uncertain relationship:

“I think we just feel like, ‘Let’s just wait it out,’” Lopez said previously, via the New York Post. “There’s no rush, we’re good, everything’s cool and it’ll happen when the time is right. I feel like it’s not a huge priority to go and have a big wedding right now, that’s not what life is about.”

The former Yankee star and J-Lo started an investment group to make a run at purchasing the New York Mets from the Wilpon family last year. That bid garnered serious consideration, but ultimately came up well short of billionaire Steve Cohen's eventual offer. Rodriguez and Lopez also engaged in some property speculation.

Looks as though Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez will put some more energy into themselves.
