The Major League Baseball 2022 All-Star Game rosters were revealed on Sunday. There were not many shockers, as it contained a lot of the names baseball fans would expect. One player that will unfortunately be missing from the All-Star Game is Phillies superstar Bryce Harper. He is dealing with a fractured thumb after taking a 97 MPH fastball off his hand two weeks ago.

Despite being ruled out for an extended period of time, Harper still garnered the most fan votes as a starter for the All-Star Game. However, with him unavailable, a replacement had to be named as the DH for the National League. According to MLB Insider Jeff Passan, Atlanta catcher Williams Contreras has been named his replacement as starting DH.

William's brother, Willson, is already slated to be the starting catcher for the National League squad at the 2022 All-Star Game.

That puts the Contreras brothers into elite company. They are the first brothers to start on the same All-Star Game team since Roberto and Sandy Alomar Jr. back in 1992. The Alomar brothers stand out some of the best siblings to ever play professional sports together and both reached the All-Star Game many times.

Roberto was enshrined into the MLB Hall of Fame in 2011. His older brother, Sandy Jr, was elected into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame in 2009.

Willson Contreras was voted in as the starter after having himself a great first half. He is hitting .270 with 13 home runs and 46 runs scored. His brother, William, was initially elected to come off the bench. He similarly posted a .266 average with 11 home runs in many fewer at-bats.

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is slated for Tuesday, July 19th.
