Arkansas football was bested by the Liberty Flames this past Saturday by a score of 21-19, though the contest was out of hand early after the Razorbacks' lifeless first half. While Hogs fans were likely surprised to see their squad lose at home, it was nothing compared to the shock they likely felt when they woke up Sunday morning and saw the news that two Arkansas football players were arrested.

Arkansas defensive backs Myles Slusher and Anthony Brown were booked in the early hours on Sunday after an altercation with a police officer. Razorbacks football head coach Sam Pittman announced that both Slusher and Brown had been suspended.

Speaking to the media, Pittman said the following, per On3 Sports.

“We’ve suspended them for at least one week,” Pittman said. “They have a.m. runs. They’ve done one this morning and they’ll both participate in practice on scout team. It’s unfortunate, it’s not acceptable and part of our job is to teach these kids and hopefully we’ll get that done.”

The Arkansas football head coach said that Myles Slusher and Anthony Brown will be suspended for “at least one week,” calling the incident “not acceptable.”

Both Arkansas football players were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct around 2 AM. Brown allegedly complied with an officer's order to get off the street before immediately standing in the street intentionally.

When the officer grabbed the sleeve of Brown's shirt, the Arkansas football player allegedly pushed him away. Brown was then taken into custody.

Slusher allegedly grabbed the same officer and pushed him away, while also initially refusing to provide officers with his name or date of birth.

These allegations are serious and don't make the Arkansas football program look very good. It's not surprising to see these two players suspended for their actions.
