The Arkansas Razorbacks had a relatively successful 2021 college football season. They finished their regular season 8-4, and are ranked #21 in the season's end rankings. Arkansas is slated to play Penn State in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day.

They will be without arguably their best player though, as Treylon Burks announced he will forego his senior season and will enter the 2022 NFL Draft. He is also not going to participate in the Razorbacks upcoming bowl game.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport tweeted out the message that Burks posted for everyone, announcing his decision.

Burks had some kind words to say about his school and where he came from in his announcement.

“I have decided to opt out of the bowl game and forego my senior season and declare for the NFL Draft. Other than representing my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, there has been no greater honor in my life than representing Warren and the entire state of Arkansas these last three years.”

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has Burks listed as his sixth receiver coming off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Warren, Arkansas native has been compared to Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown because of his size and athleticism. Burks is 6′ 3”, 225 pounds with a large wingspan.

In his junior season, Burks posted 66 catches for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns. In one of the biggest games of his career vs Alabama, he caught eight passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns.

His absence will surely be felt in the Outback Bowl vs a strong defense in Penn State.
