The Novak Djokovic Australian Open drama has gripped the tennis and sports world. With the Serbian star currently being held in a quarantine hotel at the Australian border, Australian native and outspoken tennis star Nick Kyrgios sounded off on the Djokovic Australian Open drama via Yahoo Sports.

“Look I definitely believe in taking action, I got vaccinated because of others and for my mum’s health, but how we are handling Novak’s situation is bad, really bad,” tweeted Kyrgios.

“Like these memes, headlines, this is one of our great champions but at the end of the day, he is human. Do better.”

Australian native Nick Kyrgios is not a fan of how Novak Djokovic is being treated ahead of the Australian Open. Kyrgios, who called Djokovic a “tool” in the past, still feels that the situation isn't being handled correctly, as he is one of the sport's “great champions.”

Kyrgios, who said he is vaccinated because of his mother's health, clarified that he believes action should be taken, though he feels that the situation, which currently has Djokovic locked up, is really bad.

Kyrgios has been criticized as much as any tennis player in the world, but he might just have a point here. Novak Djokovic did not follow the Australian Open rules and should be punished because of it, but what is happening in Australia right now might just be over the top.
