Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly in talks involving a straight swap between Miralem Pjanic and Aaron Ramsey, per Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pjanic has struggled to cement his place in Ronald Koeman's squad and has spent much of his first season at the club warming the benches and is viewed as not being a part of Koeman's project in Barcelona. The Bosnian International when called upon by Barcelona, failed to make an impact for his side. He was no longer the player Barcelona expected when they got him a year ago from Juventus in exchange for Arthur Melo.

Aaron Ramsey, who is the same age as Miralem Pjanic (31), finds himself in a similar position as the Barcelona man. He has also struggled to break in the Bianconeri's starting XI. The Welshman and former Arsenal player had trouble fitting in Juventus' system and was also injured and unfit for the most part of his Juventus career. It will be interesting to see if he can stay fit for Barcelona.

Juventus is currently looking for midfield reinforcements as CM Arthur Melo is expected to be out for at least 2 months after a knee surgery. Pjanic is also keen on a reunion with the Old Lady as Max Allegri was rehired by Juventus after an abysmal season with Andrea Pirlo. In 135 apps under Allegri, Pjanic has scored 19 goals and dished out 33 assists, and was a vital piece of the Juventus squad that lost to Real Madrid in the 2017 Champions League final. The Bianconeri will be hoping they can recreate that magic again with Miralem Pjanic if this swap deal comes to fruition.
