Robert Lewandowski playing for any other club except Bayern Munich? Yes, it's hard to believe. But, it's definitely possible. According to Spanish outlet AS, the Pole is keen on a move to Real Madrid in the near future, with his current deal with the Bundesliga giants running out in 2023.

Bayern Munich is worried that Lewandowski could ask to leave Germany next summer when his transfer fee would be reduced to a more reasonable amount, which could see Los Blancos pounce on the opportunity.

Lewa is coming off another clinical season for Bayern, bagging 41 goals in league action which broke Gerd Muller's previous Bundesliga record of 40. Across all competitions, Lewandowski netted 48 times. He's proven to be one of the most lethal strikers in world football and would certainly be a great addition to Madrid.

It's unlikely he leaves this summer, with next year being more of a realistic possibility. But, Bayern Munich is preparing for his potential departure anyway by targeting an attacking reinforcement of their own. Julian Nagelsmann's side is keeping an eye on PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo, who earned his first cap with the Netherlands in Euro 2020. The youngster has been involved in 29 goals through 65 appearances with the Eredivisie outfit.

At 32-years-old, Robert Lewandowski only has so many years of quality football left in him. The chance to leave Bayern Munich for a club of Real Madrid's stature could be too good to pass up.
