Chicago Bears are hoping that rookie quarterback Justin Fields is the answer to their prayers to the football gods. The franchise has achieved minimal success in the last few years, nay, decades and Fields is another shot at breaking that trend.

But the Bears rookie isn't rushing things just yet, and he implores the same from the fans who want to see him playing ahead of Andy Dalton. The veteran QB ahead of Fields tasted dirk via a sack in the second quarter of a preseason game at Soldier Field when a chorus of chants started: “We want Fields!”

Justin Fields spoke out about the restless Bears crowd showering Dalton with boos and chants for him to be replaced.

Via Alex Shapiro of NBC Sports Chicago:

“I really think it’s kind of disrespectful to Andy, them cheering my name out like that,” Fields said. “Just cheer him on, you know? That's not helping Andy play better, to cheer my name. That’s not doing none of that.”

“My advice to them would be just cheer whoever’s on the field.”

That's a poised statement from the young signal-caller. Justin Fields knows that the reins to the Bears franchise will be his in due time. In his eyes, there's no need to cut corners to get there.
